Downtown London and I manage to stumble into a Turkish restaurant!
I was not expecting it to be Turkish as the description said European and having brasserie in the name doesn’t really say Mediterranean to me.
However, no harm, no foul as it was quite nice! Our server was Bulgarian and she had only been speaking English for 7 months. She did very well and I am further convinced that as Americans we are all dolts and the rest of the world has given up on us and all learned english.
Had some humus, mediterranean cheeses and because I could not make up my mind I had the mixed grill. The little pinkish beads are pomegranate seeds. Quite tasty actually!
The server was very apologetic that the kitchen was closed when we were done so that she could not offer us dessert (not that we needed it!) and than they brought us baklava on the house. My Greek compatriot was not so impressed with that.
On the whole, very nice!
