Dear Santa

Dear Santa,

I know that you are awfully busy this year, so I thought I would try to make it a bit easier on you by sending you a note over the ether with some web links to some stuff that I want so you could just…well, you know…mail order them on Black Friday and save your self a little wear and tear on the old sled and reindeer. Also, and I hate to be selfish this time of year, but if you even click on one of the ads and buy something for somebody else, I make a little bit as well! That will help me with buying for some other VIPs on my list!

I really don’t need another tablet type device thingie-ma-jig but something about the Amazon Fire has me really interested. Good specs (sure would have loved BlueTooth though), nice screen and the Silk server-side stuff sounds really interesting. Oh, yeah, they nailed the price on it.

I wrote a review on some travel underwear and I have to admit I really like them…but I can’t convince my wife to let me buy anymore because they are kind of expensive. But you know what they say, if you buy the best you are always happy with it! Maybe a little stocking stuffer?

Apple TV. OK, I already have one, but the gleaming black hockey puck of media goodness is just so danged useful that I would like to have one for all the rooms of my house.

If you have read my blog at all you know that A.) I have a serious bag fetish and B.) Tom Bihn is at the top of my list of favored bags. I own three already and you could be as addicted to them as I am with a bit of temptation. This why I am listing TWO TB bags on my list.

The Co-Pilot is a carry on bag to organize your stuff under you seat on the plane. Strong, lightweight and lots of pockets.

The Synapse is a a mid size daypack made of cordura and broken into well laid out pockets. Often referred to as the “Tardis” bag (originally here, I believe) it is one of those packs that is bigger on the inside than outside. I have resisted getting one even for review because I am not sure I can add anything to the canon of reviews about it that has not already been said.

I am still looking for the perfect iPad bag and one of my other favored bag companies makes the truly sexy Muzetto. WaterField designs actually makes a man bag that I would feel no need to try to justify as a laptop bag or briefcase.

I play less and less video games but I do have a yen to try the latest in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The initial premise (old assassin having to replace speed and skill with guile and deceit) struck me as a bit odd…until my daughter’s started dating. No further comment.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations

Well, maybe just one more game on the list. Skyrim is a sprawling behemoth of a role-playing game and is the kind of thing that will steal a week of my life away…

Of course maybe the list will also give you some ideas for other middle aged tech geeks that have been better than I have this year. I really can explain.

Oh yeah, maybe peace and harmony on earth would be a nice touch as well. Do you like chocolate chip or sugar cookies better? Also, I am going to leave the milk in the fridge so it stays cold, but I left a glass out so please feel free to help your self.
