Engadget has a quick video up on their site showing operation of the new Barnes and Noble Nook.
The Nook appears to be a bit more open than the Fire but the strategy is from the same playbook. Sell content to pull the price of the hardware down. I guess we all learned something from the cellular companies!
At $249 it out features the Fire slightly with more battery life, storage and the addition of a micro SD card slot. Amazon’s silk proxy technology could end up tipping the table back a bit in the Fire’s favor but that will remain to be seen.
So disappointing to have both companies leave off Bluetooth as the addition of a small keyboard like the Verbatim would make either of these very capable remote computing platforms.
