Well, OK, that might be stretching it a bit, but according to Geeky Gadgets they are working on extending their distribution outlets to be able to offer same day delivery.
Amazon has already made agreements with several states to begin collecting tax in those states and as the Verge has pointed out more traditional retailers should beware of wishing for this “leveling of the playing field”.
I have spoken to several major online retailers and they have passed on many promotional and locals sales opportunities and partnerships because of the issues surrounding nexus and local taxation. If they are no longer shy to pursue these opportunities how much more difficult is it going to be to for those smaller retailers to compete? How are they going to differentiate themselves from Amazon?
All I have to do is look at my own purchasing habits and it is easy to see that many of my decisions are driven not only by price but by convenience. I do not have time in my busy schedule to go out and look for something when a click or two will bring it to my door.
